Team Leadership




Lead, mentor, inspire, and manage a small team of highly skilled FPGA engineers. Conduct performance reviews, support professional development, and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture. Responsible for the allocation of resources within the team to ensure business objectives are met.

Technical Leadership




Provide technical direction and oversight for all FPGA design, verification, and validation activities. Oversee the entire FPGA development lifecycle: requirements analysis, architectural design, RTL coding (VHDL/Verilog), simulation, synthesis, place & route, timing closure, and hardware integration/testing. Drive the adoption of best practices, advanced methodologies and state-of-the-art FPGA technologies and tools (Xilinx, Intel). Contribute to system-level architecture decisions and technology roadmap planning.

FPGA Design




Responsible for the development, maintenance and governance of all FPGA and digital design processes. VHDL code development and simulation. Implement and verify FPGA modules, interfaces and IP for video and RF signal processing applications. Integrate FPGA components to meet system functional requirements. Generate supporting documentation including design documents, verification plans and user guides. Responsible for the design of System-on-chip functional architectures. Perform latency and power analysis for functional components. Responsible for the design of test frameworks and test stimuli. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE


Essential






Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. At least 10 years of experience in FPGA and digital design. Significant, demonstrable experience in complex FPGA design and verification using VHDL and/or Verilog. Proven experience in leading engineering teams or significant technical projects, ideally within an FPGA context. Deep understanding of the entire FPGA development flow and associated tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, ModelSim/QuestaSim). Experience with high-speed digital design, timing closure, and signal integrity challenges. Strong ability to write structured code and clear documentation. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of TCL scripting language. Highly Desirable Experience working within the defence, aerospace, or other high-reliability sectors. Current UK Security Clearance (SC or DV). Experience with System-on-Chip (SoC) devices (e.g., Zynq UltraScale+) and embedded processing cores. Knowledge of GPU and AI development. Familiarity with Video protocol and data format, such as MIPI and SDI. Proficiency in modelling packages such as Matlab. Experience with scripting languages (Python, Tcl). Knowledge of software development languages such as C++. Experience of designing to safety integrity levels. Experience of development within the Lifecycle defined in Functional Safety Standards IEC 61508 or ISO 26262. WHAT WE OFFER YOU
