We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic

Freelance

Flu Vaccine and Basic Life Support Instructor

to join our growing team of healthcare educators. This role involves delivering engaging, evidence-based training in seasonal flu vaccination techniques and BLS, ensuring that learners are confident, competent, and compliant with current guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, learner-centred training sessions in Flu Vaccination, Anaphylaxis and Basic Life Support to healthcare professionals. Facilitate practical sessions and assess learners' competency against current national standards and best practice guidance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immunisation practices, BLS guidelines, anaphylaxis management and relevant legislative changes. Prepare and update teaching materials to reflect current evidence and policies, in line with Health Academy's standards. Provide constructive feedback and support to learners to promote skill development and professional growth. Ensure accurate documentation of attendance, assessment outcomes, and certification in accordance with organisational procedures. Act as a clinical role model, promoting best practice and a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with internal teams to support the development and review of training content and resources.

Essential Criteria

Registered healthcare professional (e.g. nurse, paramedic, pharmacist) with relevant clinical experience. Significant experience in delivering immunisation services, particularly flu vaccination. Hold a recognised teaching or training qualification (minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent). Proven experience in delivering training or instruction in healthcare settings. Up-to-date knowledge of immunisation schedules, BLS protocols, anaphylaxis management and national guidelines (e.g. PHE/UKHSA, Resuscitation Council UK). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for teaching and learner success. Ability to adapt teaching styles to suit varied learning needs and environments. Competent in using digital tools for remote or blended learning delivery.

Desirable Criteria

Experience delivering training online via platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Familiarity with e-learning development and interactive teaching technologies. Additional immunisation qualifications or experience in other vaccination programmes (e.g. COVID-19, childhood vaccines). Flexibility to travel across different UK locations when needed.
