About the Project

Beyond The Flip is a feel-good docu-series hosted by youth advocate Jack Parsons. In each episode, Jack takes over as "boss for a day" at iconic companies, flipping leadership roles to spotlight culture, creativity, and next-gen talent. This special episode partners with The LEGO Group and features their UK & Ireland Country Manager, Christian Pau, stepping into the intern role.

We're capturing a mix of planned scenes and real moments across offices, open spaces, and collaborative meetings. Tone: bright, human, creative.

The Role

We are looking for a

freelance sound recordist

who can confidently manage location audio throughout a fast-paced shoot day. You'll be capturing clear, natural audio in a variety of indoor settings using both lavs and a boom mic.

This is a

boom-focused role

--ideal for someone with experience tracking conversation and movement in informal, real-time setups.

Key Responsibilities

Mic primary talent (Jack, Christian) with wireless lavaliers as needed. Operate boom mic for key dialogue scenes, walk-and-talks, and wider group setups. Monitor and adjust levels live; anticipate movement and environmental noise. Record secondary room tone and ambient sound for coverage. Manage clean file storage, backups, and quick turnaround for post team.

Kit Requirements

Boom mic with wind protection and boom pole Field mixer or multi-channel recorder (Zoom, Sound Devices, etc.) Minimum 2x wireless lav kits (R?DE, Sennheiser, Lectrosonics, etc.) Over-ear monitoring headphones Backup batteries, cables, SD cards

Ideal Experience

Experience with branded content, docu-style, or corporate mini-docs. Comfortable in mixed environments--studio-style office lighting, natural light, and spontaneous filming. Confident working closely with videographer and producer to flag issues and adapt live. Strong grasp of capturing natural tone while ensuring clarity.

Tone of the Day

Think: Netflix doc meets BTS reel--light, insightful, and human. Filming includes interviews, reflections, spontaneous moments, and humorous cutaways. Your role is key in ensuring the energy of the day is preserved with crisp, warm sound.
