Our Front of house manager role



Reporting to our Guest experience and operations manager, you'll have line management responsibility for our wonderful guest focused team of reception hosts, house managers and night managers. Excitingly, your team look after three key front of house areas,

Front desk - a warm arrival awaits at reception, your team will be the constant point of contact for all guests and visitors. Swim Club - our take on a spa, where outdoors meets indoors and beach meets hotel. Your team will ensure its always ready for our guests active relaxation. Beach Lofts - seven beach lofts, each with their own unique character, with private access to the beach and unbroken sea views.

Previous Front of house experience at a senior or management level will mean you're well equipped to lead and develop your team to give them all the tools they need to provide our guests with all that they need.


Handling guest complaints and dealing with emergencies should come naturally and you'll live and breathe our core company values whilst being mindful of our impact journey where we focus on our three key themes; circular, conservation and community.


With guest operations at the heart, you'll ensure your team are well-trained, warm, friendly, guest focussed, and our guests are cared for.


This role is full time onsite at Watergate Bay Hotel, 40 hours per week to be worked over 7 days. Shifts and days will be varied based on business need.

As our Front of house manager you'll be;



Providing a professional and friendly service for our guests Overseeing the delivery of the guest experience from pre-arrival through to departure Identifying areas of improvement for the front desk, beach lofts and swim club Working with other departments to ensure a smooth guest experience Scheduling your direct report rotas Providing ad hoc cover for Night host managers when required Resolving guest complaints or issues quickly and professionally Reviewing guest feedback and communicating this to the business Delivering and planning ongoing training and development for your team members Leading on recruitment for the host team Managing performance, carrying out monthly one to one's and team meetings Ensuring a safe working environment for your team and guests, ensuring company's health and safety procedures are followed Aware of B Corp accreditation goals and encourage your team to engage in B Corp related initiatives and workshops Representing our brand at all times

The skills you'll be sharing with us;



Front of house experience in either a senior or management level capacity Demonstrable commitment to high-end guest experiences Confidence to make reasonable and prompt decisions Experience in a customer centric role Strong diplomatic communication skills to handle complaints and emergencies remaining calm under pressure Proven experience of developing a team with training and individual goal setting Experience of performance management Prepared to step into any role within your team to ensure consistency with guest services should there be a need A bright, positive and approachable personality The ability to change and adapt with business need and business growth
