Job Description

The Scallop Shell is looking for experienced people to join its close-knit front of house team, full-time and part-time.

We're looking for a warm and confident front of house team members to provide a genuine welcome to diners and maintain the highest levels of service to ensure the seamless running of our busy restaurant. You'll be organised, thrive during a busy service, love working as part of a team and be committed to contributing to the ongoing success of our proudly independent family-run business.

Full-time: It's 7 shifts and 35 - 40 hours per week (11.30am - 3.30pm for lunch & 4.30pm - 10.30pm for dinner), with a salary of up to 30k a year, including tips.

Part-time: Up to 35 hours a week and up to 12.40ph + tips.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers with a friendly demeanour to ensure a welcoming atmosphere. Serve food and beverages efficiently while adhering to food safety standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to facilitate smooth service during busy periods. Assist in service setups and daily tasks to support the duty manager. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area. Provide exceptional hospitality to enhance the overall dining experience.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a front-of-house role within the hospitality industry. Strong serving skills and a commitment to excellent customer service. Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices desirable. Familiarity with barista duties and coffee preparation desirable. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable.
