Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Front of House Staff to join a dynamic team in a stylish new venue offering small plates and quality wine in the heart of Crossgar. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensuring a high standard of service. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality and be keen to learn about wine to offer knowledgeable dining/drinks experiences for our customers.

Duties

Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression. Assist with seating arrangements and ensure that guests are comfortably accommodated. Take food and beverage orders accurately, ensuring clarity and attention to detail. Support food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including dining spaces and service stations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality control of all menu items. Handle cash transactions and manage the till efficiently, ensuring accuracy in all financial dealings. Assist with catering events as required, providing excellent service throughout the occasion. Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety in accordance with health regulations.

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred but not essential- full training will be provided. Wine Knowledge or barista skills a bonus Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with guests and team members. Knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous; training will be provided where necessary. Experience in bartending or food preparation is a plus, enhancing versatility within the role. A proactive attitude towards helping others and resolving issues as they arise. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
