We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Front of House staff to join our vibrant team as our business expands across both our bistro and our newly launched construction site canteen.
As a key member of The Hideout, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they receive exceptional service from start to finish. Your role will involve a blend of hospitality, food service, basic food preparation, and time management to create a welcoming, efficient experience across both locations.
At the bistro, you'll welcome guests, take orders, serve food and drinks, and help maintain a clean, inviting atmosphere. At the canteen, you'll be part of a small, fast-paced team serving hot food to workers, clearing tables, and occasionally assisting the chef with basic prep and plating as needed.
Duties
Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Take orders accurately and efficiently, demonstrating basic maths skills for processing transactions.
Assist in food preparation as needed, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
Provide knowledgeable recommendations to guests, utilising upselling techniques to enhance their dining experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables and waiting areas.
Stock management, replenish, assisting in ordering and stock taking.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and address any guest needs promptly.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and a focus on hospitality.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
Managing grab-and-go or pre-orders
Qualifications
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and order processing.
Understanding of food safety practices is advantageous.
Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
