What will you be doing?
The Front of House Waiter/Waitress and cooking duties will oversee the functions of an exciting new catering provision - Cafe Bryn Euryn, based in Mochdre. In addition to serving good quality homemade food and drinks, the cafe will also provide a training provision and vocational experience for young people and adults with Learning Disabilities to learn and develop skills and knowledge required to work in a catering environment.
Specific duties include:
Welcoming guests and promptly attending to tables
Cooking duties in the kitchen to fulfil orders from customers
Keeping the front of house area (including external seating area) clean and tidy, clearing tables, completing opening and closing duties, stock tableware and other supplies
Serving food and beverages to guests making recommendations if needed
Communicating with the kitchen regarding questions including; length of wait, product availability, meal requirements, dietary needs and special requests
Handling payments of goods and services
Preparing hot and cold drinks, including operating the barista machine
Supporting Adults with Learning disabilities to develop their catering knowledge and experience
About you
You will have experience of working with members of the public
You will have experience of working in a Catering environment
You will have the ability to speak Welsh or the commitment to learning
You will have the ability to communicate effectively with a supported person and their family/Carer and other professionals
You will have the ability to complete tasks following defined process
You will be able to plan own day and prioritise workload
