Front End Design Producer (experience/vision Design)

Birmingham, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About BPE Audio

BPE Audio is an acoustic consultancy and audio installation specialist crafting beautifully discreet, high?performance systems for bars, restaurants, clubs, hotels and premium residential spaces. We combine system design, installation and noise consultancy--often in heritage buildings and live trading venues--using platforms such as Q?SYS, Dante/AES67, and premium loudspeaker lines (e.g., L?Acoustics, Martin Audio, Sonos Architectural). Our work extends beyond hardware: we help venues shape the guest journey, staff workflows and the signature sound of the space.

The Role

We're hiring a Front?End Design Producer to lead the experience & vision phase of our projects--turning a brief into a compelling story that clients can see, hear and sign off. You'll orchestrate discovery, visual/motion design, sound concepts and lightweight prototypes; package them into pitch?ready decks, sizzles and interactive mock?ups; then partner with Engineering and PM to land the concept without losing the magic.

This is a hybrid creative/producer role for someone who can switch between strategy, aesthetics and practical delivery in hospitality environments.

What you'll do

Discovery & Narrative

Lead workshops to define experience goals, zones, day?parting and operational constraints.

Build guest/staff journey maps and experience principles; translate brand into sonic/AV cues.

Establish measurable success criteria (intelligibility, coverage, SPL policy, vibe by day?part).

Concept & Vision Assets

Produce pitch?ready decks, moodboards and micro?storyboards that communicate look/feel and sound.

Create rapid prototypes: Figma/ProtoPie UX for control UIs (e.g., Q?SYS UCI), short motion sizzles (After Effects/Premiere), and simple 3D/diagram visuals (SketchUp/Revit/Illustrator).

Develop soundscape direction (reference tracks, loudness targets, playlist frameworks) in partnership with our audio team or music partners.

Define environmental graphics and wayfinding requirements where relevant; coordinate with architects/ID.

Design Coordination

Work with Engineering to align concepts with feasible speaker placements, coverage and control; iterate based on EASE/EASE Focus outputs and acoustic constraints.

Produce annotated GA/RCP mark?ups and UX specs for handover; maintain version control and a tidy asset library.

Brief vendors (lighting, content, scenic) and manage demo/POC plans.

Pre?Sales & Communication

Support bids with clear narratives, options and pricing rationales; tailor visuals for owner/operator audiences.

Present concepts in client meetings; capture feedback and convert into actionable revisions.

Contribute to brand?level templates: proposal layouts, iconography, UI components, and style guides.

What you'll bring

Essential

4-8+ years in experience design, brand/retail environments, live events, or hospitality design--ideally with AV/audio or experiential components.

Portfolio showing story?led concepting, strong visual craft, motion/sizzle work and interactive mock?ups.

Fluency with Figma + Adobe CC (Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere).

Practical literacy in spatial/architectural drawings (GA/RCP/elevations) and ability to annotate clearly.

Confidence presenting to non?technical stakeholders; crisp writing for decks and proposals.

Organised producer mindset: timelines, asset lists, dependencies and tidy file structures.

Right to work in the UK; ability to visit sites and attend evening showcases when needed.

Nice to have

SketchUp/Revit, Bluebeam; basic EASE literacy to read coverage plots.

Q?SYS UCI/logic literacy (designing UI states and control flows with Engineering).

Knowledge of sonic branding, playlist curation frameworks and SPL/policy design for hospitality.

Light 3D/motion tools (Twinmotion/Unreal, Cinema4D) for fly?throughs.

Experience in heritage/listed buildings or luxury hospitality.

What success looks like

90 days: repeatable discovery deck and vision template shipped; two live proposals with client?approved concepts.

6 months: faster concept cycles, higher win rate, and improved design?to?delivery fidelity.

12 months: recognised house style for BPE experience design; reusable UI kit and media assets.

KPIs (examples)

Proposal win rate and margin on concept?led projects.

Concept cycle time (brief ? approved vision).

Design?to?delivery fidelity (variance between concept and as?built).

Client satisfaction/NPS at concept approval and post?handover.

Re?use rate of templates/assets across proposals.

How we work

Quality first: elegant, legible visuals; honest storytelling grounded in what we can build.

Pragmatic and tidy: consistent templates, clear annotations, predictable handovers.

Growth mindset: funded training and space to prototype.

What we offer

Competitive salary + performance bonus.

25 days holiday + UK bank holidays; pension scheme.

Training budget (motion, 3D, UI/UX, audio literacy).

Laptop, software licences and required tools; travel expenses.

Hybrid working once established; site and client visits as required.

Schedule & travel

Monday-Friday with occasional evenings/weekends for demos or openings.

Projects mainly London & South East; occasional UK/European travel.
