Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team at Fairhill Shopping Centre in Ballymena. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, effective communication skills, and the ability to respond swiftly to incidents.

This role is 40 hours per week with additional hours available. - Start date for this job is 1st November 2025

Duties

Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and security. Conduct regular surveillance using CCTV systems to detect suspicious activities. Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, providing first aid or CPR when necessary. Enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when required. Manage conflicts effectively, utilizing conflict management techniques. Prepare detailed reports of incidents and maintain accurate logs of daily activities.

Qualifications

Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable. Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent conflict management skills and the ability to de-escalate tense situations. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed on weekly rota.

Pay: 12.79-13.09 per hour
