The locations of the refuges cannot be disclosed at this stage for confidentiality reasons however the role will be based across East Surrey and West Surrey.

Overview


To support the Trusts and Fundraising Manager and fundraising function of the charity as a whole to help grow income for the charity, providing effective, proactive engagement of our community of supporters from across Surrey.

Your role will be vital in ensuring our supporters feel valued, engaged, and inspired to take action, helping us raise the funds we need to provide safe refuge and support for adult and child survivors of domestic abuse

Duties



Be the first point of contact for all incoming offers of support from new supporters, promptly assessing and responding to their needs. This includes providing information, thanking them for their support, arranging the collection or drop-off of in-kind support, responding to requests for speakers.

Maintain a regular programme of contact with established supporters, developing relationships and identifying opportunities to deepen their understanding of I Choose Freedom's work and proactively encourage additional avenues of support

Key responsibilities of the role

Efficiently and warmly respond to incoming offers of support and provide timely thank you communications for donations and other gifts. Using judgement to understand when an enquiry should be escalated to the Trusts and Fundraising Manager or CEO. Proactively support individual and group fundraising via both digital platforms and in person meetings, delivering a friendly and personalised supporter journey. Help achieve fundraising targets by supporting individual and group fundraisers taking part in I Choose Freedom campaigns. Work with the Trusts and Fundraising Manager to develop new, and grow existing community campaigns aimed at an individual audience, including, but not limited to, the Big Give and Mother's Day campaigns. Assist with the creation of fundraising materials and social media content. Coordinate corporate volunteering days, ensuring volunteers are welcomed, briefed, and supported to have a positive and meaningful experience. Confidently represent I Choose Freedom to potential and existing supporters and networks. Ensure effective recording and use of supporter information. Ensure compliance with the fundraising regulator and GDPR for all I Choose Freedom activities. Collaborate with all staff to help contribute to a healthy organisational culture.
About you:

The role of the Fundraising Administrator is suited for someone who has experience in an Administrative or customer-focused role and can demonstrate strong organisation and communication skills. While knowledge of fundraising is not a prerequisite, enthusiasm for the work of the charity and an interest in building understanding of fundraising is essential.

Knowledge and experience:

Experience in providing support to an individual or team. Experience in a customer service facing role.
Skills and abilities:

Self-starter who can work independently and proactively. Excellent interpersonal skills and evidence of the ability to engage effectively with supporters. Excellent written and oral communication skills (e.g. the ability to draft emails, thank you letters, blog posts and talk to supporters on the phone) An ability to plan, schedule and prioritise a diverse workload to meet deadlines Excellent attention to detail Competent user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

A car and the ability to travel across Surrey to attend meetings is desirable. Some evening and weekend working may occasionally be required to support events and fundraising activities, in which case time off in lieu is provided.

Pay: 15,116.00-16,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 22.5 per week
