is a registered Charity primarily funded by donations from those in the police service. It provides physical rehabilitation and mental health support to members of the police service and retired police officers. The Charity supports over 3,500 people annually and has been providing care to the police service since 1890.
The
Fundraising and Engagement Officer
will work alongside the Fundraising and Engagement Manager to build relationships and increase engagement with police forces and relevant connected associations. The post is central to the overarching strategic goal of increasing income and engagement for the Charity and provides a key link between the charity and the force-based advocates.
Working Hours:
Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday | Part time, 30 hours per week also considered
Key Accountabilities:
Fundraising and Engagement
Deliver a comprehensive programme of engagement activities across all relevant police forces - including digital, written and in person formats - in line with the Fundraising and Engagement Strategy
Support forces and individuals to become regular donors to the Charity and ensure key information on support options are maintained within all relevant forces
Build relationships with key individuals in each force and relevant police associations to ensure effective and efficient engagement and promotion
Collaborate with all relevant internal and force based teams to promote fundraising and engagement campaigns and initiatives
Work alongside the Fundraising and Engagement Manager to develop and deliver appropriate promotion and stewardship communications, including social media, newsletters, emails and graphics
Represent the charity at national, force and associated organisation events (due to the nature of these events, working away from home and on evenings/weekends may be required - notice will always be provided)
Volunteer Management
Recruit, support and steward relationships with advocates at force level to ensure a consistent and proactive level of engagement
Ensure compliance with volunteer role profile activities and collate data on activities carried out
Organise and facilitate training/guidance sessions for advocates on a twice-yearly basis at Flint House Police Rehabilitation
Ensure recognition for advocates is proactive and impactful
Data Management
Ensure GDPR compliance for all data held for forces, advocates and/or collected at events
Track engagement activities through the Donor Management System and provide reporting on level of activity and impact by force and/or time period
Other Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Degree or equivalent level of experience (3-4 years)- with a focus on fundraising, communications, marketing or volunteer management
Two or more years' experience in donor/fundraising relationship management
Experience of using social media platforms and other communication platforms for professional engagement
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Interpersonal communications skills across a variety of platforms - digital, written, verbal
Full, clean UK driving licence
Willing to be DBS checked
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
Understanding and/or experience of working with the police
Understanding of charity and voluntary sector
Experience of working with volunteers
Understanding of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems, training on specific system used by the Charity will be provided
Project Management skills and/or qualifications
