We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Fundraising Officer to support the delivery of Eden Project Morecambe's fundraising ambitions. Working alongside our Eden Project Morecambe's Head of Fundraising, you'll help identify funding opportunities, write compelling proposals, support donor engagement, and ensure funders are well looked after.

Role Overview

As Fundraising Officer, you will play a vital supporting role in delivering the Eden Project Morecambe capital and revenue fundraising strategy. Working alongside the Head of Fundraising and wider Development team, you will help build meaningful relationships with donors and partners, prepare persuasive proposals, and ensure excellent stewardship and compliance across all fundraising activity.

Key Responsibilities

Support the development and delivery of fundraising strategies targeting trusts and foundations, high-net-worth individuals, corporates, and public sector funders. Research and identify new funding opportunities, producing tailored cases for support, applications, and reports. Assist in the stewardship of existing donors, ensuring timely updates, recognition, and impact reporting. Collaborate with finance, programme, and project teams to gather data and prepare documentation for funding bids and claims. Contribute to donor cultivation events and support key relationship management tasks as directed. Provide administrative and coordination support for the Morecambe fundraising campaign and contribute to the wider Eden Project portfolio, including Eden Cornwall, Dundee, The Big Lunch, and Nature Connections programmes.

Demands of the role

Education & qualifications

Educated to A' level or equivalent experience. Additional qualifications in fundraising, communications, or marketing are desirable. Professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising is welcomed but not essential.



Knowledge & skills

The post holder should have at least 2-3 years' experience in a fundraising, development, or stakeholder engagement role. Familiarity with grant applications, donor engagement, and fundraising administration is expected. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience with CRM systems will be advantageous.



Decision- making

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the post holder will support the monitoring of campaign performance and contribute to funder reporting. They will assist in resolving donor queries and ensure contributions are accurately tracked and acknowledged in line with internal and external requirements.



Resourcefulness

The role requires a proactive approach to relationship-building and opportunity-spotting. The post holder will support the development of new partnerships and fundraising initiatives, contributing ideas and working collaboratively to meet strategic goals



People & asset management

While the Fundraising Officer will not have direct line management responsibilities, they will work closely with colleagues across the organisation. They will support funding bids and play a key role in maintaining accurate records and reporting systems, contributing to the effective and compliant delivery of Eden Project Morecambe's fundraising goal



Communication & visitor experience

The Fundraising Officer will support the cultivation and stewardship of key funding relationships related to Eden Project Morecambe. While not responsible for managing politically sensitive relationships, the role will involve communicating with donors, supporters, and partners in a professional and timely manner. Internally, the post holder will contribute to cross-team efforts, helping to coordinate and prepare fundraising materials and supporting the development of major funding bids.



Operational environment

The role is based in the North West in or near Morecambe. Occasional travel to London, Cornwall, and other Eden locations will be required. The post holder should be flexible and prepared to attend evening or weekend events and meetings when required as part of donor engagement or campaign activity.
