BACKGROUND:

An opportunity to join a family Funeral Directors that has been serving Carmarthen and surrounding communities since 1986. We organise between 175-200 funerals per year. We offer a personal service to bereaved families 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Company located at Login Chapel of Rest, Llangunnor, Carmarthen. Company is a full member of SAIF. WAGE:

13 per hour. Reviewed annually.

HOURS:

Part-time according to need.

To begin with: 3 mornings per week Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

MAIN DUTIES:

Supporting the Funeral Director by:

-Working in the workshop. Preparing and fitting coffins. Woodworking skills would be advantageous.

-Working in the mortuary. Dressing and preparing the deceased.

-Bringing the deceased into the company's care from locations such as care homes, hospitals and private homes. To be available to help with calls outside of office hours.

-To assist with tasks in funerals such as bearer duties - i.e. carrying the coffin.

-Taking responsibility of upkeep and cleaning of company vehicles.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

To support the Funeral Director by offering a professional service in both languages. To uphold the companies' core principles and highest standards at all times. To follow the companies' policies and procedures at all times.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Good communication skills.

Well organised with a positive outlook. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible and dependable. Ability to respect the confidential nature of the work. Full driving license.

TRAINING:

Full Training available. Extra training courses available as provided by SAIF.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

You will be accountable to Iwan Evans (Managing Director).

All equipment and formal clothing available as required.
