HARP Funeral Services Ltd is a family-run business who provide a sensitive and professional funeral service to the local communities of Merthyr Tydfil.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Funeral Operative to work 40 hours a week between Monday and Friday.

In addition to your normal hours, you will be required to be on the out-of-hours, and on-call rota which will require working in the evening and weekends and will provide an opportunity to earn additional payments.

You must be IT literate, have a full driving license and live within 45 minutes of Merthyr Tydfil.

Previous experience is essential, making this role ideal for individuals who have worked in the profession and are seeking to advance their career. The position offers clear opportunities for progression, with potential to develop into managerial and Funeral Director roles.

You will need to be of smart appearance, able to interact with the public in a professional and compassionate manner, be physically able to carry out manual handling activities and have a positive attitude.

General duties include driving funeral vehicles, assisting at funerals and acting as coffin bearer, carrying out chapel duties, assisting with the preparation of coffins, assisting with the preparation of the deceased, general mortuary duties, cleaning and valeting of company vehicles, general house-keeping activities.

A uniform is provided.

Holidays - 29 days per year inclusive of Public Holidays
