Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Furniture Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent driving skills, the safe and skilled use of hand tools whilst following instructions, the ability to communicate effectively, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Duties

Operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and safety standards. Load and unload goods, including heavy lifting as required. Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimising fuel consumption. Communicate with warehouse staff, showroom staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies. Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability. Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Skills

Proven experience as a Furnitute Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred. Strong ability to drive safely and efficiently under various conditions. Experience with heavy lifting and handling of large items is essential. Ability to assembly furniture items and dispose of packaging approriately. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is advantageous. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required; additional certifications for commercial driving are a plus.
