We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced

Furniture Hub Manager

to lead the day-to-day operations of our furniture and donation hub. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine retail management skills with creativity and community spirit.

About the Role



To manage the day-to-day operations of the furniture and donation hub, ensuring efficient handling of donated items and customer interactions. A key focus of this role is to support the promotion of the shop and its offerings through local social media platforms and community engagement working in co-ordination with the marketing and digital e-commerce team.

To assist the Warehouse Manager with the co-ordination of furniture collections and deliveries.

As Furniture Hub Manager, you'll be responsible for:

Furniture & Donation Hub Operations



Manage the receipt, sorting, and organisation of donated furniture and home items. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and donors. Ensure donated items are appropriately displayed and prepared for resale or redistribution. Liaise with the shop team to coordinate stock movement and presentation. Carry out regular audits of stock, donations and shop floor layout. Ensure furniture and accessories are displayed attractively to maximise appeal and sales. Identify opportunities to increase revenue through improved layout, product selection and promotional activity. Monitor shop performance and contribute to ideas to improve customer experience and sales.
To promote gift aid and other fundraising initiatives.

Accurately manage daily cash handling, including till operations, cashing up and banking.

Using E-productive system to support key aspects of shop operations ie stock control, sales reporting, monitoring goods received and performance monitoring.

Following the guidelines for the selection of goods for display/ rag and recycle.

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Trading Standards and Longfield policies.

Local Promotional Activity



Share regular updates on local social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, community groups) to promote available items, donation needs, and shop activity. Upload photos and basic descriptions of furniture and donation items, using location tags and relevant hashtags to increase local visibility. Promote in-store events, seasonal campaigns, and community initiatives to raise awareness and drive footfall. Engage with local audiences online by responding to comments and messages in a timely and friendly manner. Maintain a consistent tone and visual style in line with brand guidelines, with support from the marketing team.

Collaboration with Digital E-Commerce Team



Assist with stock coordination between the physical hub and online platforms. Support promotional efforts that link in-store activity with digital campaigns. Ensure consistency in product presentation and messaging across physical and online channels.

Warehouse & Logistics Support



Support Warehouse Manager as a point of contact for furniture collection and delivery enquiries. Support the Warehouse with incoming phone calls related to logistics, donations, and customer queries.

Cluster Support & Flexibility



Work collaboratively as part of a cluster group of shops supporting the wider team to ensure consistency in service and operational continuity. Be available to work in other shops within the cluster as required including covering staff absences, supporting during peak trading periods or assistance with special events. Ensure flexible approach to working hours and locations in line with business needs and agreed rotas. To share best practice and contribute to a collaborative cluster/full retail culture.

Ad Hoc Duties



Carry out additional tasks as required to support the smooth running of the shop and wider retail & warehouse team.

Assist with special events and seasonal promotions or community engagement activities.

Respond flexibly to changing priorities and operational needs maintaining a positive and proactive approach.

About you



Experience



Proven experience in retail management role ideally within charity/not for profit environment

Experience leading and motivating a team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment

Comfortable using social media platforms for posting and engagement.

Basic photography or digital skills helpful but not essential.

Demonstrated ability to manage shop performance

Managing rotas, financial control and maintaining accurate records

Desirable



Interest in furniture, interiors, or community work is a plus.

Interpret sales reports, online analytics, and stock data to inform decisions

Previous use of retail management software system Eproductive or similar

Qualifications



Educated to GCSE Level C/4 within English and Maths

Knowledge, skills and abilities



Understanding of the unique aspects of charity retail, including volunteer management, donation processing, Gift Aid, and ethical retailing

Knowledge of Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) systems, stock control, and integrated retail management software (e.g., Eproductive)

Awareness of retail legislation, safeguarding, GDPR, and health and safety regulations

Strong interpersonal skills to deliver excellent service and build community relationships

Proficiency in using retail software, Microsoft Office

Skills in creating attractive in-store and online displays to drive sales

Clear and effective communicator with diverse audiences including volunteers, donors, and customers

Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Desirable



Ability to plan and implement strategies to grow both in-store and online sales

Ability to identify high value or specialist items for Ecommerce

Full UK Driving Licence

Access to transport/ability to travel

Hours of work: 9 am until 3 pm flexible working. Shop is closed on Wednesdays. Expectation of working on Saturdays or every other Saturday.
