Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (Gallagher) is one of the world's largest insurance brokers and provides a full range of global brokerage, claims management, risk control consulting, claims and information management, and appraisal services to clients around the world.
The Position:

This is a unique position for a talented lawyer with proven organizational ability, keen negotiating skill and strong business acumen to help manage Gallagher's procurement contracts function as well as marketing agreements.

Responsibilities

Review, draft, negotiate and interpret a variety of agreements, including but not limited to, software licensing agreements, vendor services agreements (including IT and other professional services), consulting services agreements, marketing agreements, and other agreements arising out of Gallagher's operations. Ensure that all agreements accurately reflect Gallagher's business objectives and comply with all laws and regulatory requirements. Work closely with Gallagher business leads, management, other Gallagher legal representatives, and the Gallagher procurement and marketing teams on strategic initiatives affecting contracts and commercial issues. Provide ongoing and proactive strategic advice regarding contractual and business risks and counsel on contract interpretation and potential dispute issues. As pertaining to Gallagher contracts, identify and provide advice and counsel on a variety of legal matters that may arise, including IP, bankruptcy, privacy (including data security, HIPAA and GDPR) and regulatory issues. Collaborate and work in a team environment with other Gallagher legal representatives in analyzing and implementing various projects, including improvements on data metrics and reporting and automation.

Required Qualifications:



A minimum of 3 years relevant experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating and interpreting a variety of North America-based agreements. Prior experience in a contracts function, including working with contract management systems. Strong English speaking and written communication skills are absolutely essential. Advanced critical thinking and analytical ability. Ability to understand and integrate details of the business to ensure new and existing business relationships are workable across functions. Outstanding client management skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and trust with business leads, senior management and other professionals at all levels of the organization.
Preferred:* Familiarity with a Contract Lifecycle Management tool is desirable.
