JOB OVERVIEW

Carsington Sailing Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Galley Manager to oversee the day-to-day

operations of our club's galley (kitchen). This role is essential in ensuring the provision of high-quality food

and beverages for members, guests, and event attendees. The ideal candidate will have experience in

catering, hospitality, or kitchen management, with strong organisational and customer service skills.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Galley Operations & Food Service

Plan and prepare a menu that caters to club members, visiting sailors, and event participants.

Oversee food and beverage preparation, ensuring quality and consistency.

Manage stock levels, order supplies, and monitor food costs within budget.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in compliance with health and safety

regulations.

Ensure efficient service during busy club events, regattas, and social gatherings.

Staff & Volunteer Management

Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, volunteers and temporary workers.

Create staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels for regular operations and events.

Foster a positive and welcoming environment in the galley.

Customer Service & Member Engagement

Provide excellent customer service to club members and visitors.

Gather feedback and adjust menu offerings based on member preferences.

Work with the club committee to develop catering options for special events.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

Manage galley finances, including pricing, cash handling, and expense tracking.

Maintain accurate records for stock, suppliers, and health & safety compliance.

Ensure the galley operates efficiently and remains financially sustainable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 16.75 per hour

Expected hours: 23 per week
