As a Gaming Lecturer at School of Coding & AI, you will guide learners through the full spectrum of game design - from initial ideas and storyboards to 3D production and coding. Whether you're helping a student shape their first level or perfect their final major project, every session you deliver builds skill, confidence and career-readiness in a thriving industry.

Established in 2017, School of Coding & AI has rapidly ascended to become the UK's largest and most decorated institution in Coding and Computer Science. Each month, we empower thousands of children and adults, collaborating with over 150 schools, colleges and businesses nationwide to deliver comprehensive courses in STEM, Coding, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Business Studies.

WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?



Curriculum Mastery:

Deliver engaging, high-impact lectures across modules in game design theory, level and character design, 3D modelling, audio design, interaction design and more - from Foundation Year through to Final Major Projects.

Course Development & Enhancement:

Shape and refine course content with a focus on industry relevance, emerging tech (e.g., VR, visual coding, motion capture) and interdisciplinary creativity.

Assessment & Evaluation:

Set and assess coursework in line with academic standards - no exams, just real-world projects. Provide clear, constructive feedback to support student progression and academic achievement.

Administrative Excellence:

Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance and progress. Prepare plans, reports and documentation to ensure effective course delivery and compliance with quality standards.

Collaboration & Communication:

Liaise with academic peers, industry professionals and external partners to ensure curriculum relevance and enhance employability outcomes.

Team Collaboration:

Work with fellow lecturers and management to develop a cohesive, supportive team that drives the success of the department and student outcomes.

Adaptability & Innovation:

Embrace changes in curriculum or delivery, incorporating innovative teaching methods and tools to meet diverse learning needs.

Professional Development:

Stay at the forefront of game development trends and educational methods to keep your teaching relevant and inspiring.

Other Duties as Assigned:

Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support the department's operational and strategic objectives.

WHAT BACKGROUND DO I NEED TO HAVE?



You will ideally hold a Masters degree or equivalent professional qualification in Gaming or related discipline.

First degree or equivalent in Gaming or a relevant discipline.

PGCE teaching qualification and/or Fellowship of HEA (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during probation period)

You will have previous experience of HE lecturing experience.

You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of three or more of the following areas

? Game Design Theory

? Level Design & Environment Building

? 3D Modelling & Animation

? Game Audio & Sound FX

? Coding for Interaction (Visual/Non-Visual)

? VR, Serious Games or Experimental Game Development
