Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic individual to join our Gardening Equipment and Sundries Department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and outdoor living, along with strong customer service skills. This role involves assisting customers with their gardening needs, maintaining inventory, and providing product knowledge to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their gardening equipment inquiries and purchases.

- Demonstrate product knowledge and expertise to help customers choose the right tools and supplies for their gardening projects.

- Maintain an organised and visually appealing sales floor by stocking shelves, arranging displays, and keeping the area tidy.

- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering new products to ensure a well-stocked department.

- Conduct regular product audits to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

- Assist customers in the operation and maintenance of gardening equipment, offering tips and best practices.

- Stay updated on gardening trends, plant care, and seasonal shifts to provide accurate information and recommendations.

- Support promotional initiatives and marketing efforts within the department to drive sales.

Qualifications.

- Previous experience in retail, particularly in gardening or outdoor equipment, is preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.

- Basic knowledge of gardening tools, equipment, and horticultural practices.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items as required.

- A positive attitude, enthusiasm for gardening, and a willingness to learn.
