Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable

Stitching / Sewing Operative

to join our production team. This role involves

sewing and assembling a wide range of garments

, as well as carrying out

repairs and alterations to fire and protective kits

, ensuring all work meets required quality, safety, and customer standards.

This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and the ability to work efficiently within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Stitch and assemble a variety of garments to specification using industrial sewing machines. Carry out repairs and alterations, on fire kits and protective garments. Follow technical specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. Conduct visual quality checks to ensure garments meet required finish and durability standards. Maintain consistent output while meeting production targets and deadlines. Comply with all health & safety procedures and safe systems of work. Keep work areas clean, organised, and production-ready. Report defects, faults, or material issues promptly to the supervisor. Work collaboratively as part of a production team to support overall operational performance.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in garment stitching or industrial sewing is desirable. Ability to sew different types of garments and materials. Experience with repairs or alterations is an advantage (training can be provided). Good attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow instructions and technical specifications. Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented. Willingness to learn and adapt to different product lines.
