Lochmaben Golf Club is a well-established and welcoming members' club set in the beautiful countryside of Dumfries & Galloway, South West Scotland. The club boasts an 18-hole parkland course with stunning views, a fully stocked clubhouse with bar and catering facilities, and a friendly, active membership.

General Manager
to guide the club's operations, ensure sound financial stewardship, and deliver on our strategic goals.
The Role
This is a pivotal leadership position with a strong emphasis on financial management, supported by customer service excellence and operational control. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Financial Leadership
Preparing and managing the club's annual budget in consultation with the Board
Producing accurate and timely
monthly management accounts
and presenting them to the Board
Monitoring performance against budget and highlighting variances or emerging issues
Overseeing cashflow, financial controls, and cost management
Managing payroll for all staff
Working with auditors and ensuring compliance with all statutory financial requirements
Operational & HR Management
Managing day-to-day operations across the clubhouse, course, and administration
Dealing with visitors, handling bookings, and processing deposits
Managing all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, appraisals, training, and disciplinary procedures
Managing marketing, communications, and social media presence
Ensuring compliance with all legal, licensing, and health & safety regulations
What We're Looking For
Proven management experience in a golf club, hospitality, or leisure setting, with significant financial responsibility
Experience using Club V1 golf management software and Xero accounting software preferrable
Strong budgeting, payroll, HR, reporting, and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Leadership ability to motivate and manage staff effectively
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Strong customer service focus with the ability to build positive relationships with members and visitors
A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
