Due to expansion, we are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Production Operative to join our manufacturing team. This is a varied role running in-line non-destructive testing/ inspection equipment as well as a fine wiredrawing and a respooling line.
The operator will be responsible for:
The operation of two NDT lines
Running a fine wiredrawing machine
Organising and respooling material as required for the Warehouse
Responsible for set up and operation of two NDT lines as well as examination and rectification of any defects detected during inspection
Use of Eddy-current NDT testing equipment which involves equipment set up and calibration, interpretation of scan data and defect identification, examination and rectification.
Responsible for meeting quality standards and ensuring the quantity produced meets efficiency rates.
Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
Carry out process and quality checks to assure material being processed meetings customer quality standards.
Use precision measuring equipment to verify the dimensional accuracy of the product.
Use a variety of material handling equipment to move material from/ to work area including, Forklift truck, Pallet truck and Overhead crane
Have basic IT skills to be able to carry out data entry, reporting and product identification requirements.
Ability to organise own work flow as well as following production program.
Follow company H&S and housekeeping rules.
Carry out other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
Experience of working within a factory environment ideally within the steel industry
Ideally have a FLT Licence
Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
