At the Scarborough Pupil Referral Service, we have high expectations and aspirations for all of our pupils. We work closely with parents, carers and families to build relationships and support pupils throughout their educational journey and beyond, to Post 16 life; providing a comprehensive and flexible curriculum.
We aim to provide a safe and nurturing setting where pupils are listened to, valued and given support and guidance. The team of staff are committed to making a difference to the young people they work with, striving to help our pupils to understand their emotions, develop strategies and build resilience.
Our goal is to develop young people, give them a sense of belonging and help them become confident in themselves and their own abilities to overcome barriers.
We are looking to appoint a robust candidate who has the ability to work well with potentially challenging pupils and to support them in accessing their learning. You will have the potential to develop knowledge of some areas of the curriculum in order to support teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will:
Support pupils in their social and emotional wellbeing, in implementing related programmes, including social, health and physical needs
o Assist in escorting and supervising pupils on educational visits and out of school activities o Assist teachers in the implementation of appropriate behaviour management and teaching & learning strategies
Undertake break and lunch supervision as required
Be adaptable and have a high level of resilience
Have high expectations of all pupils
Work as part of the team and have excellent communication skills
