General Teaching Assistant (SEN) - 1:1 Named Child

Salary:

GTA 18,509.00 (Actual salary incl. SEN allowance. Pay award pending April 2026)

Grade:

GTA SEN is Grade CD / SCP 3 (with additional SEN allowance)

Contract:

Temporary post to meet specific need of child

Hours:

30 hrs GTA SEN (8:45am - 15:15pm Monday - Friday)

The Headteacher and Governing Body of Hunmanby Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated, motivated and inspiring GTA (SEN) to join our small, friendly team. Under the direction of the class teacher, this post will support and improve access to learning for a Year 2 child with additional needs. This is a temporary position, which will remain in place while the child is attending and requires this support.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children, (in particular SEN children); Be supportive, nurturing, patient and understanding. Be able to develop positive working relationships with pupils, parents, staff and other professionals. Be able to support in the delivery of high quality learning experiences for all pupils. Have high expectations of learning and behaviour and inspire and motivate our children. Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience. Work well as part of a team. Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. Is able to use their initiative and work flexibly; Is positive and resilient; Be willing to undertake and act on relevant professional development and training.
