Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated General Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics processes. This position involves a variety of tasks, including materials handling, shipping and receiving, and maintaining quality control standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment and possess the ability to perform heavy lifting as required.

Working hours:- Monday to Friday - 8am -5pm.

Responsibilities

Handle materials efficiently, ensuring safe and proper movement throughout the warehouse Experience in assembly work - assembling bespoke MTM products aligned to the window accessories industry - curtain tracks and blinds. Operate forklifts safely and effectively to load and unload goods Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory and managing stock levels Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments against purchase orders Engage in picking and packing operations to prepare orders for dispatch Maintain accurate stocking of products within the warehouse, ensuring optimal organisation Conduct quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products to uphold company standards Perform mechanical tasks as needed to support equipment functionality Engage in heavy lifting of products when required, adhering to safety protocols

Experience

Previous warehouse experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of logistics operations. Prior experience of assembly work - a plus but not essential as training will be given. Familiarity with materials handling techniques and safety regulations Experience operating forklifts; certification is advantageous but not mandatory Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is beneficial Skills in shipping & receiving processes are desirable Proven ability in picking & packing tasks with attention to detail Mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance is a plus Capability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining safety standards
