General Waste Operative -- MacNabb Waste

Location:

Downpatrick MRF (on-site; occasional support to other sites)

Hours:

Full-time, 07:30-16:30, Monday-Friday (overtime available)

About the role

Join our operations team keeping material moving safely and efficiently across the site. You'll sort and handle waste/recyclables, keep bays tidy, help load vehicles/plant, and support the team to hit turnaround targets.

What you'll do

Sort/segregate waste and recyclables (manual picking, light machine assists) Load/unload vehicles and containers; move materials between bays Keep bays, traffic routes and yard clean and safe (housekeeping standards) Carry out daily checks, complete simple handheld app entries Follow site H&S rules (PPE, exclusion zones, banksman directions) Support colleagues/plant ops and jump in where needed

What you'll need (essential)

Reliable, hands-on work ethic and team mindset Able to follow instructions and maintain safe working practices Comfortable with manual handling (typ. up to ~20 kg with proper technique) Basic reading/writing to complete checklists and labels Right to work in the UK and a dependable commute to Downpatrick

Nice to have (desirable)

Experience in a MRF/transfer station/yard Banksman/Marshall, Manual Handling, First Aid (or willingness to train) Forklift/Telehandler ticket (NPORS/CPCS) Full UK driving licence
