You will be part of one of our generalist adviser teams, delivering advice on welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, immigration, discrimination, family, and social welfare issues. Our teams are diverse, with a range of experiences, and work together in our Barry office, delivering advice to clients via face-to-face appointments, telephone, email and webchat. On occasion, face-to-face appointments take place in our Cardiff office and at our community locations.
During your training you will work 9am to 5pm. Because our telephone lines are open to clients between 8am and 7pm, once you have completed your training, you will work your weekly hours on a shift pattern of either 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm or 11am to 7pm. We will give you plenty of notice of your shift. You will also be required to work occasional Saturdays 9am to 1pm, for which you can claim TOIL.

Being an excellent communicator to manage clients' expectations, ensure they understand your advice and that you understand their circumstances
Having a high level of resilience enabling you to deal with the advice needs of clients
Being able to talk and type at the same time to help manage your time effectively
Being able to work collaboratively as part of a team to foster productive working relationships
Be accepting of feedback from your Team Leader, given to help you perform to the best of your abilities
Being organised, self-motivated and adaptable so you can respond to changing client and organisational needs
Have experience in delivering excellent customer service either in a face-to-face, telephone or other digital environment
Have excellent communication skills
Have good data entry and IT skills
