Job Title: Generator Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced

Generator Engineer

to manage the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel and gas-powered generator systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in both field and workshop environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, commission, and test generator sets ranging from small portable units to large industrial systems. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on generators, control systems, and associated equipment. Troubleshoot engine, alternator, and control panel faults using diagnostic tools and schematics. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and manufacturer standards. Maintain accurate service records, reports, and logs for each generator unit. Support power generation planning for temporary or emergency applications. Work with fuel systems, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and electrical wiring. Coordinate with other engineering teams, contractors, and clients during site projects. Provide technical support and training to junior technicians or operators.

Qualifications / Skills:

Hands-on experience with generator brands such as Cummins, Caterpillar, Perkins, FG Wilson, or Kohler is a plus. Strong knowledge of engine operation, power generation principles, and electrical control systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Familiarity with PLC systems, ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch), and synchronization panels. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client or field sites. Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, HSE) are advantageous.

Working Conditions:

Travel to client sites and off-hours work may be required during emergencies or outages.
