Golf Retail Assistant

Are you passionate about golf and enjoy working in a customer facing role? Birstall Golf Club are looking to recruit a Retail Assistant to support the running of the Professional Shop.

Birstall Golf Club is a parkland golf course, with superb greens and fairways, based in North Leicestershire. It is an exciting time for the club, with a significant Clubhouse redevelopment in the final phase to modernise the facilities. This project also includes the expansion of the Professional Shop with a new indoor simulator / swing studio and club fitting facilities.

Working with the Head PGA Professional, you'll be responsible for greeting visitors, answering the phone, making golf bookings, dealing with day-to-day enquiries, checking in golfers, as well as selling and advising on merchandise. You'll be the 'go to' person in the Golf Shop in the absence of the Head Pro, so you will be offering support and guidance to all members, potential members, guests, and visitors. You are the first impression for the golf club, so providing a warm, friendly, helpful environment is extremely important.

This role will be offered on a casual part-time basis (c15-20 hours per week), including weekdays and weekends. The pay will be in line with new National Living Wage, included with role will be complimentary use of the golf course and subsidised food & drink.

What we're looking for

You'll be passionate and knowledgeable about golf, with strong customer service skills. Experience within a retail environment would be preferred, but certainly not essential.

This role is immediately available, so interviews will be held before the end of May.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
