- Golf Shop Assistant (Full Time)
Job Purpose
To support the Professional Shop Manager and work collaboratively with the Shop Team and the wider CSGC team to ensure the smooth, efficient, and professional operation of the Professional Shop. The role is focused on delivering outstanding customer service, driving sales, and maintaining high standards of store presentation and stock control.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Proactively greet and welcome members and visitors, offering a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable service at all times.
Assist customers by identifying their needs, providing product advice, and making tailored recommendations.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries via email and telephone.
Deliver a high standard of service at the point of sale, processing transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
Handle customer complaints and concerns calmly and professionally, resolving issues efficiently and escalating when required to ensure customer satisfaction.
Store Operations & Merchandising
Receive, unpack, and check stock deliveries from suppliers, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Maintain well-stocked shelves and attractive merchandising displays that enhance the customer experience and maximise sales opportunities.
Ensure the Professional Shop is clean, tidy, and well-organised at all times, presenting a welcoming retail environment.
Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory control to maintain appropriate stock levels.
Support seasonal merchandising changes and promotional activities as directed by the Professional Shop Manager.
Technical & General Duties
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Professional Shop.
Carry out basic club repair services, including re-gripping and re-shafting of golf clubs (training provided where required).
Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and store security, as required.
Undertake any additional duties reasonably required to support the operation of the Professional Shop.
Core Skills & Experience
A strong interest in and knowledge of golf and golf equipment.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional approach.
Good IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office and retail systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Reliable, flexible, and willing to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
Training
Full training will be provided to support your development and success in this role.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 19,536.00-21,500.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 - 32 per week
