About the role



We are a rapidly growing online pharmacy in the UK, and we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Goods In Team Leader to manage our goods-receiving and put-away operations.

This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and efficient receipt of pharmaceutical products, maintaining stock integrity, and supporting the smooth operation of our dispensary and order fulfilment processes. The Goods In Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of goods in operatives, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and SOPs, and driving continuous improvement within the goods in function.

Team Leadership:

Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of goods in operatives, including performance management, training, and absence management.

Goods Receipt:

Oversee the accurate and timely receipt of all incoming goods, including pharmaceutical products, packaging materials, and other supplies.

Verification & Inspection:

Ensure all received goods are checked against delivery notes and purchase orders for accuracy, quantity, and quality. Inspect goods for damage or expiry dates and report any discrepancies.

Put-Away:

Manage the efficient and accurate put-away of received goods into designated storage locations, optimizing space utilization and ensuring product traceability.

Inventory Management:

Support inventory control processes by accurately recording received goods in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and promptly reporting any stock discrepancies.

Compliance:

Adhere strictly to all relevant regulations, including GPhC guidelines, MHRA requirements, and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the handling of pharmaceutical products.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all goods received, including delivery notes, inspection reports, and put-away records.

Health & Safety:

Ensure a safe working environment for the goods in team, adhering to all health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for improvement in goods in processes, including efficiency gains, cost reductions, and enhanced accuracy. Implement approved changes and monitor their effectiveness.

Liaison:

Communicate effectively with other departments, including purchasing, dispensary, and order fulfillment, to ensure smooth flow of goods and information.

Stock Control:

Assist with regular stock checks and cycle counting as required.

Returns Management:

Manage the processing of returned goods, ensuring compliance with regulations and company procedures.

About you



Proven experience in a goods in or warehouse environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Demonstrable experience in leading and motivating a team. Strong understanding of warehousing and logistics principles. Knowledge of GPhC guidelines and MHRA requirements related to pharmaceutical products. (Desirable) Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills. A proactive and can-do attitude. NVQ Level 2 in Warehousing and Storage or equivalent qualification (desirable). Forklift truck license.

This role does require you to work shifts and weekends

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.74 per hour
