Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Goods Inwards/Despatch Overseer to manage and coordinate the receipt and dispatch of goods within a dynamic and high-volume distribution yard. This pivotal role ensures the seamless movement of inventory, supports operational efficiency, and maintains the highest standards of safety and accuracy in goods handling.

Key Responsibilities:Goods Inwards:

Supervise the receipt and unloading of inbound deliveries, verifying product quantities and quality against purchase orders.

Oversee the inspection, documentation, and safe handling of goods.

Ensure accurate data entry into inventory management systems.

Resolve discrepancies in delivery contents and liaise with procurement and suppliers as needed.

Coordinate with stock control to ensure proper storage and inventory integration.

Despatch:

Oversee the picking, packing, and loading of outbound goods for timely and accurate despatch.

Ensure the correct documentation (e.g. delivery notes, manifests) accompanies all shipments.

Communicate with logistics partners and drivers to ensure transport schedules are met.

Maintain loading bay and yard organization for maximum efficiency and safety.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

Proven experience in a logistics, warehouse, or distribution environment.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.

Proficient in MS Excel and SAP.

Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.

Desirable:

Forklift Truck (FLT) license - Counterbalance or Reach.

Familiarity with lean warehousing or continuous improvement practices.

Knowledge of customs/export paperwork (if international despatch is relevant).

Working Conditions:

Yard and warehouse environment - exposure to outdoor elements and moving vehicles.

Fast-paced, shift-based operation (include shift pattern if applicable).

PPE and training provided as standard.

Pay: 28,000.00-30,000.00 per year
