We are seeking a experienced, caring and analytical person (preferably nurse registered) to join as Governance Officer in our Quality team to strengthen service-wide governance across domiciliary and supported-living services. You will coordinate complex cases, provide clinical oversight and keep us inspection-ready. You. must be a fast learner, adaptable and agile as this is a fast paced environment. Purpose
To lead day-to-day governance and care-planning assurance, provide clinical oversight across your caseload, and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
Core Responsibilities
Safeguarding
Support timely reporting, information gathering and learning in line with LA and CQC requirements.
Regularly report outcomes and conduct data analysis to turn into tangible plans and improvements.
Auditing and Quality Assurance
Hold oversight of medicines governance
Own the audit calendar and keep inspection evidence current
Support the Quality Manager in the activities of the QA cycle
Care Planning & Clinical Governance
Champion person-centred, outcome-focused care planning; support Trusted Assessors to keep plans holistic, enabling and compliant.
Ownership for monitoring all complex health cases across service users.
Service user health oversight:
monitor falls, skin integrity, nutrition/hydration, hospital/A&E contacts and time-critical meds; maintain a
high-risk register
;
track reablement
goals and post-discharge follow-ups.
Mentorship & Training
Work with the Training & Development Lead on the organisation-wide
Run bi-weekly team huddles/surgeries to share learning and close actions.
Support the QM: Review appraisals, supervisions and probation outcomes;
own the trackers
and feed themes back to QM.
Regulation & Liaison
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation; support regulatory inspections and contribute to action plans.
Attend
local-authority meetings, forums and workshops
; capture requirements and embed changes.
Liaise with commissioners and external clinicians (GPs, SALT, DN) to support safe, joined-up care.
Person Specification
Essential
Working knowledge of safeguarding thresholds and MCA/consent.
Strong audit/report writing;
confident with spreadsheets; organised and proactive.
Highly adaptable to work in different environments across the community, offices and from home
Ability to remain organised and focused in high stress situations
Self-motivated and proactive. Independently finding new solutions
Excellent communication with people we support, families and professionals.
Enhanced DBS; full UK driving licence and access to a car.
Desirable
NMC registered
Experience mentoring staff and supporting learning (e.g., NVQs/CPD)
Exposure to medicines governance and reablement pathways.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary input for complex cases.
Data skills (dashboards/action tracking).
