Gp Assistant (non Clinical) Ftc

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Description

As a

General Practice Assistant (Non-Clinical)

, you'll be the backbone of our practice operations--keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From managing patient records and processing referrals to supporting clinicians and handling day-to-day admin, you'll ensure that every detail is accurate and every patient journey is seamless. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on organisation, loves problem-solving, and wants to make a real impact in healthcare without needing a medical qualification.

You'll be doing things like:

Scanning, coding, and filing patient information into EMIS to keep records accurate. Sorting and processing incoming letters and flagging actions for clinicians. Summarising new patient records and maintaining up-to-date medical summaries. Drafting medical reports and handling requests from patients or third parties. Coordinating with clinical teams to ensure smooth workflow and compliance. Handling telephone and online enquiries with professionalism and care. Supporting audits, reporting, and general administrative tasks as needed.

You'll thrive here if you:

Love keeping things organised and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. Have an eye for detail and take pride in accuracy--even with repetitive tasks. Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Communicate clearly and confidently with both patients and colleagues. Are a quick learner who can follow processes and adapt to new systems. Take ownership of your work and feel motivated by helping patients receive timely care. Work well as part of a team but can also manage tasks independently.
