Job Description

Are you an organised, adaptable and proactive individual looking to play a key role in supporting a busy GP practice? We're looking for a non-clinical GP Assistant to join our friendly team, providing essential administrative and workflow support to ensure smooth and efficient running of our patient services.

As a GP Assistant within our SystmOne practice, you will work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to help manage the day-to-day flow of information and communication throughout the surgery. This is a varied role, combining elements of reception, workflow management, and administrative support

Key responsibilities include;



Working flexibly across reception and back-office functions as required.

Providing high-quality administrative support to the GP and wider practice team.

Assisting with appointment requests, patient queries, and maintaining accurate records.

Managing incoming correspondence, including workflow documents, tasks and patient communications

Supporting GPs with preparation of some report, referrals and correspondence

Supporting the smooth running of clinics through effective coordination and communication.

Contributing to service improvement initiatives and helping to optimise administrative processes.

About you



You will be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. We are looking for someone who is IT proficient and has a keen eye for detail. You will have a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing excellent service to both patients and colleagues.

Essential skills and experience



Strong IT literacy

Ability to multitask, prioritise workload and work under pressure.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Discretion and understanding of confidentiality and data protection.

Desirable



Previous experience in a GP surgery or primary care environment.

Experience in workflow/document management within a GP setting.

Knowledge of medical terminology

Familiarity with NHS administrative processes and systems.
