Role Overview



Are you a recent graduate with a passion for CAD design and a creative spark for new products? Join us as a Graduate CAD & Design Assistant and help bring projects to life! You'll work closely with our Project Manager, supporting projects from initial concept through to delivery, creating 2D and 3D designs, contributing to product development, and helping keep our projects running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where your ideas and technical skills will make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:



Create3D designs using SolidWorks (or similar 3D design software). Contributing creative ideas for new products and improving existing ranges. Take product ideas from initial concept through to manufacturing drawings, ensuring designs are ready for production. Understand what technical drawings are required to move a design to manufacturing. Support the Project Manager in day-to-day project tasks, including, ordering, scheduling and coordination. Preparing design presentations, concept visuals, and reports for clients and internal use. Maintain accurate records of designs, drawings, and project documentation.

Day-to-Day Tasks:



Producing and updating CAD models and technical drawings. Brainstorming and developing new product ideas. Liaising with colleagues and project managers to turn concepts into practical designs. Liaising with project managers and other team members to ensure designs meet client and production requirements. Updating project documentation and tracking progress using, Excel & Microsoft 365

Weekly Tasks:



Attending team meetings to discuss project progress, upcoming deadlines, and new ideas. Collaborating with the team on new product development concepts and refining them into manufacturable designs. Reviewing completed designs with the Project Manager to ensure they are production-ready.

Requirements:



Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Product Design, or related field. Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D design software; AutoCAD desirable but not essential. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for presentations, concept visuals, or product imagery. Ability to generate creative ideas for new products and develop them into technical designs. Understanding of what drawings are required to take a concept to manufacture. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Full UK driving license. Strong organisational and communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. Problem solving and creative thinking
