Duties
Assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, including tempering machines, moulding lines, and packaging systems.
Support preventative maintenance schedules and ensure machinery operates efficiently.
Help design or modify small mechanical and electrical systems to improve performance.
Collaborate with production staff to resolve technical issues and minimise downtime.
Maintain accurate records of work, equipment manuals, and service reports.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
Requirements
A degree in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
Strong hands-on skills and an interest in working with machinery and automation in a food-grade environment.
Good understanding of both electrical systems (e.g., motors, sensors, control panels) and mechanical components (e.g., gears, conveyors).
Practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn on the job.
Ability to work well within a small team and take initiative.
Desirable:
Familiarity with food production or FMCG environments.
Basic PLC or automation knowledge.
Previous workshop, placement, or factory experience (not essential).
