The Role
The Graduate Manufacturing Engineer will assist the manufacturing engineering team in providing technical engineering support and expertise for new product/process introduction programmes and implementing strategies for improving manufacturing process capability on current production operations. In partnership with the Manufacturing Engineering Team, this role will also be accountable for ensuring technical support in estimating and launching new programs (NPI) and measuring and improving existing programs within the business continuous improvement program.
Key Responsibilities
To improve manufacturing performance with regard to process capability, output, productivity, and cost.
To provide expert knowledge of manufacturing processes including close tolerance machining, automation, and test systems.
To deliver robust manufacturing solutions for new product/components in line with the MB Aerospace NPI process to meet the required HS&E aspects, first time quality, installed capacity and cost.
To provide expertise in supporting the business with regard to the MB Aerospace Manufacturing Systems, policies, and procedures. This includes all planning documentation, routings etc.
To support the business by providing expertise and driving quality systems including the management of statistical methods, problem solving techniques and continuous improvement.
To deliver manufacturing process documentation and training in line with business training standards.
Cost estimating on new opportunities.
Develop capable processes and standard work within manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations and ensure compliance.
To maintain a clean and tidy operating environment at all times through an active and practical approach to all 6S and HSE issues.
Job Requirements
Qualified to degree level (second class and above) or equivalent in an engineering discipline with an interest in manufacturing.
Strong desire to meet the goals and learn new things.
Agile thinking, flexibility with higher volume of information and speed of the business o Adaptability, creative thinking & problem solving.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Displays integrity and respect at all times.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, prioritise under pressure and be self-motivating.
Ability to use technology effectively and efficiently to manage workload
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and ability to create documents, reports and briefing materials in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must have a valid passport.
Domestic and International travel may be required.
