About the role:

You will have excellent written/verbal communication skills and be great at troubleshooting. Providing Technical Support to our partners and customers, you will work alongside the rest of the technical support team, helping to answer partner and customer questions as well as solve problems.


The European Technical Support Team is based in offices in Dalgety Bay, Paris and Kiel, and also works closely with the company's Technical Support Teams in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas.


This role is based in our office in Dalgety Bay. It is necessary to be present in the office in order to work directly with the wide range of VITEC products in our lab.

What you'll do:

The position of Graduate Technical Support Engineer will involve the following duties on a day-to-day basis:

Providing email/telephone support to our partners between 8am and 6pm, Monday - Friday Troubleshooting problems/answering questions related to: VITEC's products Digital video and broadcast TV IP networking and IP multicast Integration with third party products Assisting application developers to integrate with our products using VITEC's published APIs. Writing knowledgebase articles to share information both internally and externally Collaborating with colleagues in our global Technical Support Team, to collectively help solve customer issues.

The role will also involve the following on an occasional basis:

Travel, mainly in the UK or Western Europe, in order to assist with equipment installation and/or troubleshooting (at most one week per month) Weekend on-call cover (at most once per month)

About You:

The successful candidate will be a recent graduate with a qualification in a relevant technical discipline such as a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking or related field.

You will ideally have:

Good general skills in computing and technology Working knowledge of Linux Knowledge of IP network-based products and IP networking solutions Knowledge of digital audio/video technologies Skills in software, shell scripting and/or web development Excellent written/verbal communication skills Good troubleshooting skills The ability to build customer relationships The desire and commitment to provide great customer service
