Scarcroft Golf Club has a beautiful, gently undulating 18-hole course set in magnificent parkland that's within easy reach of Leeds, Harrogate and York.
We're a friendly club and offer superb social facilities. Our staff are focused on the provision of excellence, and we provide the warmest of welcomes to everybody who comes to play.
The Club has also spent significant sums on an up-to-date complete irrigation system and on drainage over the last 15 years, we have a continual investment plan for machinery, woodland management and bunker renovation projects, to further enhance the course. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the workshop and will also assist with golf course maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities
Regular maintenance and repair of golf machines (mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, aerators, top dressers, etc.)
Diagnosing faults and effectively solving problems on motor, electrical and hydraulic systems, consult with contracted supplier and field supervisor
Replacement of oil, filters, knives, belts and other consumable parts consultation with the supplier and supervisor
Sharpening and adjustment of rotary and cylinder mowers (training available)
Keeping records of the maintenance and services of each machine
A comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety and related procedures.
Ability to work independently and solve technical problems
A keen eye for detail and the ability to consistently produce work of a high standard.
Have a flexible approach to work and be self-motivated.
Adherence to all safety measures and work procedures
Maintenance of the workshop, tools and equipment in orderly and correct condition
Minimum Qualifications
Secondary vocational education - preferably technical or mechanical
Job-Specific Experience
Work experience in maintenance of motor machines (experience with golf machines is an advantage)
Knowledge of working with two-stroke and four-stroke engines, as well as basic electrical and hydraulics
Experience of operating welding equipment.
Be able to complete a wide range of greenkeeping duties as required, (training will be given).
