Here at The OK Diner, South Witham, we are looking for a Part-Time OR Full Time or Griddle Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be required to work 20-30 hours over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday and there may be opportunity to pick up extra shifts during the week.

Due to OK Diners having open kitchens, the Kitchen team are ambassadors for the business, creating an outstanding first impression and genuine welcome for every visitor.

The role is built around serving beautifully presented dishes cooked to OK Diners specification and ensuring that all customers leave our restaurant with a reason to return time and time again.

To ensure that the kitchen is presented to every customer as a well organised, impeccably clean, responsibly staffed, environment for our guest's food to be prepared in.

Key accountabilities of the role:



To greet every guest, you come into contact with, with a genuine, warm and friendly welcome and do your best to assist them with their requirements during their visit.

Have a full understanding of the restaurant menu to enable you to assist customers with any queries.

Ensure that all food and drinks are served correctly to OK Diner Specifications and standards.

To be responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness of the Kitchen area, and ensure that as a business we are continually providing a comfortable, impeccably clean environment for our guests

To maintain at all times, a high standard of personal cleanliness, grooming and appearance and to ensure that your demeanour and professionalism are a credit to the business at all times.

To contribute to the safe working environment as directed by the health & Safety at work act 1974.

To ensure that all aspects of your role that relate to the opening and closing of the kitchen are carried out to company standards, to ensure the safety of members of the team and the availability of products and equipment for the following shift.

To carry out a full mid-shift handover or closedown check with a relevant member of the team or management to ensure consistency of standards.

To observe the licencing laws as applicable to this business and ensure others within our team do likewise.

To be responsible for handling stock accurately and to ensure discrepancies are kept to a minimum and any occurrences are recorded and reported to the management team.

To have a full and detailed understanding of the company handbook to enable you to work within the parameters of the company policies and procedures.

To ensure all issues relating to customer service (stock levels, maintenance etc.) are communicated to the management team to ensure a speedy resolution.

To be involved in the progression of the business by contributing ideas and working with the management team to launch new initiatives and ensuring their success.

We are looking for the right candidate to join our team so we will consider part time or full time with hours to suit and options to progress within the company

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 10.00-12.80 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
