Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Grill Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of grilled dishes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role requires a strong understanding of culinary techniques and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook food items on the grill, ensuring that all dishes are cooked to perfection. Assist in meal preparation, including marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards at all times. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality meals. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager. Follow recipes accurately while also being open to experimenting with new flavours and techniques. Help train new kitchen staff in grilling techniques and food preparation methods.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar setting, with a focus on grill cooking preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and culinary best practices. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight customers. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
