Job Description

Stuart Taylor International Ltd, is a family run business based in Balderstone, Blackburn.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our workshop team.

Working Hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, may require occasional overtime and Saturdays.

Maintain, repair and adjust a variety of grounds maintenance equipment; perform minor/major repairs on a variety of equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance and tune-ups to equipment; replace parts as needed.

Perform maintenance, repair and adjustments to mechanical and electrical attachments to grounds equipment; troubleshoot, identify and repair electrical malfunctions of grounds equipment and attachments.

Requisition parts and supplies and maintain inventory.

Operate a variety of grounds/grounds maintenance tools and equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain regular attendance.

Maintains a clean and safe repair shop

Tracks inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance and maintains routine records related to equipment maintenance and repair activities.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the repair of grounds maintenance equipment.

Operation, maintenance and repair of a variety of grounds maintenance equipment.

Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.

Health and safety regulations.

Basic record-keeping techniques.

Proper lifting techniques

ABILITY TO:

Maintain, repair and adjust a variety of grounds maintenance equipment.

Perform general grounds maintenance duties.

Operate grounds hand and power tools and other equipment used in grounds maintenance.

Lift heavy objects.

Ability to read repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment.

Work cooperatively with others and alone.

Observe legal and defensive driving practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.

Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.

Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.

Must be physically able to access vehicles and equipment either by kneeling or lying on back.

Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull heavy weights, up to 75 pounds

Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Time served experience accepted.

GCSE's Maths and English A to C.

Any other further education diploma in mechanical engineering.

Previous related experience preferred.

On-the-job training provided.
