School Grounds & Maintenance Assistant (October 2025)
All year round, 7.30am - 4.30om Monday - Friday, (40hrs per week with 1 hour daily break)
We are seeking a
dedicated and enthusiastic Grounds & Maintenance Assistant
to join our Estate Team. Working closely with the Estate Manager, you will help ensure that the School's grounds and facilities -- of which we are very proud -- are maintained to the highest possible standard.
This is a
hands-on, all-year-round position
.
Key Responsibilities:
Support with the repair and maintenance of internal and external buildings, including
basic carpentry and plumbing
Carry out
general grounds and garden maintenance
, such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and upkeep of landscaped areas
Assist with the
maintenance of the School's swimming facilities
Use
hand and power tools
effectively for a variety of maintenance and grounds-keeping tasks
Help with
preparation and support for School events
, including setup, takedown, and marshalling (e.g. Bonfire Night)
Move and arrange
furniture and equipment
for School functions and events
Drive School minibuses
as required
Person Specification:
We're looking for someone who is:
Practical, reliable, and takes pride in their work
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Capable of manual work outdoors in all weather
Comfortable using a variety of tools and equipment
Willing to be flexible and help with a variety of tasks as needed
Holds a
full, clean driving licence
(D1 category desirable but not essential)
