We are seeking a highly skilled Groundworks / Civils Manager to oversee and coordinate civil engineering and drainage projects across the group. The ideal candidate will possess strong management capabilities, supervising experience, and a good understanding current legislation. This role involves leading teams, ensuring project timelines are met, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality across all civil construction and drainage activities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering successful project outcomes while adhering to industry regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage civil construction and drainage teams, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely
Coordinate with departmental managers, sub-contractors, and clients to facilitate smooth workflow and communication
Oversee daily site operations, including resource allocation, equipment management, and quality control
Enforce health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel
Review technical drawings, specifications, and plans to ensure compliance with project requirements
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues promptly
Prepare progress reports and documentation for project stakeholders
Help develop and drive forward the growing departmental targets and customer base.
Requirements
Proven management experience within civil engineering, construction or drainage environments
Demonstrable supervising experience on multi-scale and multiple delivery projects
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, and suppliers
Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to civil construction projects
Ability to lead by example, motivate teams, and resolve conflicts efficiently
Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction management are preferred
