We are seeking an experienced Groundworks Ganger to join our team on a major long-term civils project in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a groundworks gang on site, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate a team of groundworkers on site. Ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications. Organise plant, labour, and materials as required. Liaise with site management, engineers, and subcontractors. Maintain accurate site records and ensure compliance with site health and safety procedures. Carry out daily briefings and toolbox talks. Support the site manager with progress updates and issue resolution.
Requirements:
SSSTS or SMSTS certification (essential). Proven experience as a Ganger / Working Supervisor in groundworks and civil engineering. Streetworks (NRSWA) ticket (preferred). CPCS / NPORS machine tickets (advantageous). Strong leadership and communication skills. Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices. Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
