FTC - 6 months (in the first instance)

Role Purpose




This central role forms part of the Group Reporting team, which sits in the Group Finance function. As one of three Group Accountants, you will play an important role in accurately and efficiently consolidating and delivering the Group's key statutory reporting. The individual will also be responsible for the delivery of the vital information for the investor relations department and note disclosures within the financial statements, and will assist with key audit deliverables.


The role requires significant interaction with the business finance teams and senior leaders across the business, in the shared service center and in the PLC Head Office in London, particularly, Director of Group Reporting and Control.

Main accountabilities



Support the year-end and interim external financial reporting processes including data collection, analytical review and comprehensive numerical and narrative disclosure. Prepare submission files for head office entities using Hyperion. Accurately prepare statutory accounts for head office entities. Maintain accurate tracker of exceptional costs, ensuring Group Finance maintains a clear visibility of all costs classified as such, and contribute to the exceptionals section in the Audit Committee reports. Provide technical accounting assistance to the GSSC's fixed assets team, including periodic and quarterly review of tangible and intangible assets reporting. Investments in equities: manage the relationship with the Ventures partnership and ensure accurate record keeping at the GSSC (including compliance with global balance sheet reconciliation policy). Support Group Technical Accountant in monthly IFRS 16 lease accounting reporting and review. Ad hoc Group Finance related projects or technical IFRS queries- lead or support, as required.

Qualifications



Professional accounting qualification, ACA or CIMA or international equivalent

Experience



Good experience & understanding of multicurrency multinational environments Preparation/auditing of statutory accounts (including consolidated sets) Solid experience as an Auditor or partnering with external Auditors during year end processes Good experience proposing and implementing continuous improvement

Skills/competencies



Strong process management skills Proficient in IFRS Good written and verbal skills required for preparing Board level material Advanced MS Office skills Knowledge of Hyperion beneficial but not mandatory Able to work at pace always ensuring precise attention to detail Enthusiastic team player with drive to succeed First class communication and presentation skills Pro-active self-starter and fast learner Ability to work to tight deadlines / multitask
