Mears are now looking to recruit a Group Commercial Solicitor for our Legal Department. The role will be based in Gloucester with remote working flexibility.

About the role:
The purpose of this role is to provide legal advice and strategy to Mears Group in managing and dealing with commercial dispute resolution and litigation. Working closely with senior leaders of the business and playing a key role within the Mears Legal Department, the successful candidate will manage their own caseload of varied, interesting, and challenging work, in a fast-paced environment. This role provides a real opportunity to contribute to the future success of the business.
Key Responsibilities include:Advising on contentious matters to aid Group commercial dispute strategy and resolution. Ensuring key stakeholders are appropriately apprised of matters/developments. Where appropriate, obtaining instructions and authority from board directors and other key stakeholders to meet Group objectives. Assisting with Group's reporting requirements as required 'Day to day' point of contact within Group for stakeholder access to timely legal advice, guidance and associated supported in the context of litigation and dispute resolution. Management/supervisory responsibility for relevant legal support staff. Responsibility for the engagement and instruction of external legal support where appropriate and supervisory responsibility for the operational relationship and cost control linked to their use.

Role Criteria:Extensive Post-Qualified Experience A broad range of contentious litigation and commercial dispute resolution experience within the construction and housing and support services sector, A strong academic background, ability to understand complex matters, strong communication skills, good time keeping skills & prioritisation of workload. Client focused approach, be technically excellent, have the drive and enthusiasm to play a key role in the future development of the company. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will be commercially minded, tactful, and an exceptional communicator as you will be dealing with clients who are also your colleagues in a professional manner.All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
